Dr. Kathy Boutis graduated from the University of Toronto medical school. She completed a residency in paediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at the Children’s Hospital in Boston, Harvard University. She also completed a master’s degree in Health Research Methodology at McMaster University. Dr. Boutis is currently a staff physician and research director emergency department at the Hospital for Sick Children, and also holds appointments with the Research Institute as a senior associate scientist and Vice-Chair of the REB. Her research and clinical focus is in optimizing the diagnosis and management of common pediatric fractures and her research on musculoskeletal injuries has challenged dogma and transformed practice.
