Pediatric Advanced Procedures & Resuscitation Course (APRC): A competency-based “hands-on” skills course.

This pre-conference course delivers advanced skills in an innovative ‘flipped classroom’ format. Using deliberate practice and competency-based training, participants will be able to achieve mastery in these critical Paediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) skills. All learning materials will be available online for previewing including reading materials, instructional videos, and competency checklists. Participants will be offered a wide range of procedural skills including intraosseus insertion, cricothyroidotmy, chest tube insertion, intubation with glidescope and video-assisted laryngoscopy. Resuscitation scenarios will include PEM presentations such as common PALS/APLS-like scenarios and cases highlighting critical crisis resource skills (leadership, communication, and situational awareness). PEM POCUS Workshop

This innovative one day course offers novice and intermediate point-of-care ultrasound users the unique opportunity to learn PEM-specific applications from leading experts in the field. A novel case-based curriculum will provide practical, hands-on instruction designed to enhance patient care and maximize workflow in your ED.

Join us for an engaging state-of-the-art educational experience! Morning lectures are each associated with small-group scanning on volunteers, while an afternoon series of open-interactive case-based simulations allows attendees to put their new skills in play while receiving feedback from international experts.

All providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, paramedics, nurses) caring for ill and injured children are welcome. Novice-level (no or limited use) or intermediate-level (routine use) point-of-care ultrasound users.
